This ring features an antique, mother-of-pearl Chinese gambling counter with motifs dating back to the 18th century. The counter was originally carved in China for export to Britain. The British used these mother of pearl pieces much like we would use a poker chip. (Please refer to the history of the gaming counter, shown along with additional photographs of this piece.) The round mother-of-pearl counter in this ring measures 13mm in diameter.

Each gaming counter has been finely carved and is set in a handmade 18k yellow gold and silver mounting inspired by the architecture of Ancient China. Two black ceramic bands are included for stacking and changing the look of the ring. Handmade by our jewelers in Los Angeles, this ring is both elegant and fun!
