A fabulous Victorian cameo is displayed in a handsome gold ring. The black and white banded agate has been exquisitely carved to represent a woman's profile. She wears a garland of laurels in her updo and a strand of pearls around her neck. The carving is wonderful, her features are so sensitive, and the tendrils of her hair curl tenderly about the nape of her neck. The 14k ring was made intentionally for the cameo in 1920; it has an elegant milgrained bezel, curvaceous gallery, wide shoulders, and a tapered half-round band. The underside of the gallery is engraved with the monogram "E.W.D." and the year 1920. The cameo dates from circa 1850.

This ring has a sister ... a mirror twin. While this cameo faces right, the other cameo faces left. The other ring is a size 4 and engraved with the monogram "J.B.W.W." We have a theory ... Upon the passing of their father, two sisters had one of his cufflinks made into a pair of rings they wore in honor of his memory. We are selling them separately, but if you would like to keep the twins together the other ring may be found .

Details.....Currently a size 5. The top of the ring measures 19mm in diameter, and the band is 2.5mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
